United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) Presidential candiate Jejomar C. Binay and Vice-Presidentiable candidate Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan raised arms with One Cebu gubernatorial candidate Winston Garcia at the launching of the UNA-One Cebu coalition in Cebu Tuesday.
Binay signed the Unity Covenant of UNA and One Cebu that stated the commitment of both parties to ensure that the vision for a poverty-free Cebu is achieved through competent leadership and committed partnership.
In his speech, Binay reiterated his four priorities as president which he intend to implement during his first year in office: abolishing income taxes for workers earning P30000 a month or less; continuing and expanding the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps); free books, uniforms, and school supplies for public school students; and free healthcare for the poor.
Also present at the launching of the coalition were UNA vice presidential candidate Senator Gregorio Honasan II, UNA senatorial bets including Sulu Princess Jacel Kiram, Parañaque City councilor Alma Moreno, broadcaster Rey Langit, labor lawyer Allan Montano, and and former Special Action Force chief Getulio Napeñas.
Garcia thanked Binay and UNA for extending support to their family when former Cebu Governor and now Representative Gwendolyn Garcia was suspended in 2012. He said only Binay showed them concern and sympathy, and did not turn his back on them.
