June, being the traditional month to get married, reminds “Bossing†Vic Sotto of his relatively recent wedding to Eat Bulaga co-host Pauleen Luna-Sotto on January 30 of this year. Four blissful months into the married state, Bossing, the official endorser of Hanabishi quality home products, shared, “I can’t explain the feeling. Dati naman kaming couple, pero iba talaga ngayon. (We’ve been a couple for a long time but it’s different now.) It’s an entirely different page in our lives that we’re really enjoying.†During his photoshoot for a new project with Hanabishi,he couldn’t help but share some pieces of advice to couples who are planning to start a new life together.
Bossing admitted that his relationship with Pauleen is not perfect and that at times they also disagree on some issues. “At the end of the day, you just have to be aware of each other’s needs and the key words are compromise and adjustment,†he said.According to him, the ‘give and take’ principle works.
When asked about the daily gestures that make him fall in love with Pauleen more, he candidly revealed, “Lahat ng ginagawa namin sa isa’t isa ay sweet. Mahirap talaga isa-isahin. More often than not it comes down to the little things. ‘Yung iba gusto malalaking bagay, sa akin maliliit lang.†(Everything we do for each other is sweet. I can’t even begin to name them one by one. More often than not, it comes down to the little things. Some like the big stuff, to me it’s the little things that matter.) Apparently, Pauleen would often go out of her way to provide him what he needs even without him asking her to.
Being sensible about buying things is also important, per Bossing Vic. “I think I am a very practical guy. Bago ako bumili, pinag-iisipan ko muna nang mabuti kung magagamit ko ba talaga or may silbi ba. Minsan kasi first impression lang, bili na agad (Before I buy anything, I see to it that I really thought it over and make sure that it has a purpose. Sometimes, people get carried away with their first impressions, then they impulsively buy.)â€
According to him, this includes choosing the right appliances for a couple’s new home.“When it comes to buying appliances, you will be surprised na praktikal talaga kami. Dapat affordable pero hindi mo ico-compromise ‘yung quality (When it comes to buying appliances, you will be surprised that we’re really practical. We make sure that we buy affordable appliances that do not compromise on quality),†Bossing noted.
He also commented on the gifts that Hanabishi sent them on the day of their wedding, which comprise a tower fan, a rice cooker, a refrigerator, a stand fan, an electric kettle, a 50-inch LED TV, a water dispenser and an electric oven.“Kaya thankful kami sa mga binigay ng Hanabishi nung kasal namin. Kampante kami ni Pauleen kasi halos kumpleto na yung appliances namin at sigurado kaming de-kalidad at matibay yung mga bagong gamit sa bahay namin (We are very thankful for Hanabishi’s gifts on our wedding. Pauleen and I don’t have to worry about a thing since our appliances are almost complete and we’re sure that our new stuff are durable and of good quality),†he happily shared.
“Ganun din sabuhay, walang shortcut. Work hard and cherish lahat ng pinaghirapan mo, ingatan mo, mahalin mo. Lahat ng bagay na gagawin mo dapat mahalin mo and enjoy.†(Just like in life, there are no shortcuts. Work hard and cherish all the fruits of your labor, take care of them, love them. You should love everything you do and enjoy it.)
In Bossing’s viewpoint, the success of any marriage has a lot to do with making mutual decisions. Aside from giving these pieces of advice, the ultimate ‘Bossing’ in town wishes June brides and grooms an amazing journey in their new life as husband and wife.
