Providing a glimpse into the homes and routines of eccentric New Yorkers, the HBO Original comedy series HIGH MAINTENANCE explores the intriguing, often eccentric private lives of dozens of New Yorkers with one connection: their weed dealer. Ben Sinclair stars as a nameless, bike-riding pot-delivery man referred to simply as “The Guy”, whose client base includes a group of characters with neuroses as diverse as the city. HIGH MAINTENANCE kicks off with new half-hour episodes on Saturday, November 5 at 10pm on CINEMAX. New episodes premiere on subsequent Saturdays at the same time. The series, which has been renewed for a second season, will also be available on HBO GO.
Created by the married duo of Katja Blichfeld (Emmy®-winning casting director of “30 Rock”) and Ben Sinclair (“Sisters”, “The Big C”), who write and direct every episode of the new season, the series brings viewers into the homes and routines of a variety of urban characters, each with a different, compelling reason for doing business with The Guy. Each episode features one to three stories exploring the inner workings of city dwellers from all walks of life, told fly-on-the-wall style through the series’ patented brand of offbeat humor, mixed with just the right amount of pathos.
Alternatively funny, insightful and relatable, HIGH MAINTENANCE touches on themes ranging from the evolution of parent/child relationships, to the ebb and flow of adult friendships, to the challenges of navigating the world of social media. Mixing dry humor with keen insights into human nature, the series proves that in a city full of strangers, the common thread is the perennial pursuit of life’s greatest highs.
