Home Credit Philippines CEO David Minol (left) shows Jaroslav Ola, jr., Czech Ambassador to the Philippines, old photos of Manila from a private collection that were included in a photo exhibit dubbed Maynila, Kay Ganda (Manila, How Beautiful).
According to Minol, who organized the exhibit together with the local Czech community, they aimed to showcase the beauty of Manila, both past and present, to Filipinos and foreigners alike. The exhibit, located in Pivo Praha in Makati, features photographs of pre- and post-war Manila taken by Prof. Teodulo Protomartir, considered as the Father of Philippine Photography. The photos are juxtaposed with photos taken by Jun Miranda, who reproduced Protomartirs shots using modern-day Manila, resulting in a before and after perspective.
