Are you ready to move? Join MILO Philippines as it welcomes actor, singer, dancer, and athlete James Reid as a member of its growing roster of Champions. The pop heartthrob and half of the phenomenal “Team Real” JaDine loveteam, is the newest face of the MILO Champ Moves.
MILO Champ Moves is a Department of Education-endorsed dance exercise that includes fun sports-inspired steps that will help energize kids for the day ahead and help moms become aware of the growing Energy Gap concern.
“I’m so proud and excited to join the MILO team in inspiring kids to become conscious about their health and fitness through the new MILO Champ Moves,” said James. “I’ve always loved MILO—I grew up with it back in Australia and I would drink it every day before and after school.”
James shared that he has always been active in sports. He has always welcomed the thrill of trying something new, getting into all sorts of sports while growing up in Australia. He eventually found his passion for swimming, gymnastics, and Australian football, where he competed in various school and regional tournaments. Behind the scenes, James’ dad was always supportive of his son, encouraging the actor to try different sports and to excel in any field the young actor chooses.
Known to be a charismatic, all-around performer, the 23-year-old star will be ushering in the latest dance exercise that will encourage kids to conquer Energy Gap and groove to the beat of the new MILO Champ Moves song.
James hopes that the MILO Champ Moves will inspire children to learn the importance of being physically fit and eating three balanced meals with MILO every day.A recent Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) study shows four out of five Filipino children ages 6 to 12 years old experience energy deficiency or Energy Gap, a condition caused by an imbalance between the number of calories a child consumes each day and the number they require to support normal growth, physical activity, and body function.
“Let’s all help remind each other to eat healthy and stay active; just like in sports, we need teamwork,” said James. “I had so much fun doing the MILO Champ Moves, and I hope the kids will enjoy it too. To the children out there, make sure you make the dance exercise a part of your daily routine and use them to make a positive change in your lifestyle so we can beat Energy Gap and become champions in life.”
“We are pleased that James Reid is part of the growing MILO family,” said Ellen Isturis, MILO Philippines Consumer Marketing lead. “James is a MILO Champion in his own right—he’s a successful performer and a natural athlete. He’s an influential and talented young artist who embodies the winning energy of our brand. Through him, we hope to inspire kids to be healthy by eating three balanced meals and drinking MILO every day, which has ACTIV-GO that contains PROTOMALT, cocoa, milk, vitamins and minerals to help kids #BeatEnergyGap.”
The MILO Champ Moves is a project in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd). Choreography incorporating sports movements is launched in schools nationwide as daily morning exercise. Millions of school children across the country have already been doing the Champ Moves since MILO forged a partnership with DepEd in 2014.The music video and tutorial is released online in MILO’s social media platforms for kids to practice and share with their classmates and friends. The MILO Champ Moves aims to drive awareness about the Energy Gap concern among parents and children by encouraging them to live an active and healthy lifestyle with MILO.
“The Champ Moves will help students be more active, more alert during the day. When you’re active physically, it’s easier to absorb information, learn and even socialize with others. The moves will surely energize you and start your day right,” added James.
