In celebration of National Heroes Day, the country’s number one Pinoy BBQ Restaurant, Mang Inasal launched recently the Gawad Pilipinoy Awards. This is the leading food brand’s first ever recognition program for the country’s modern-day heroes who use their skills and their passion to be of service to others.

Gawad Pilipinoy seeks to recognize outstanding individuals who share their talents to the community through a selfless advocacy. These Filipinos represent galing na Pinoy by fulfilling a passion or vocation that aims to uplift the plight of less fortunate individuals.

Mang Inasal has named Adrian Karl L. Cobrado as its first ever Gawad Pilipinoy honoree. Cobrado, a teacher by profession, is the founder of BangKarunugan, an advocacy program which aims to cultivate the love of reading among children. Cobrado provides free and accessible education to the people in the islands using a bangka (boat).
