With its mission to provide sustainable solutions vital to health and life, Manila Water showed its full support for Arbor Day 2016. Dozens of employee volunteers from across the various groups within the enterprise participated in a tree-planting activity organized under the company’s TokaToka campaign for environmental protection, at the La Mesa Watershed Reserve in Quezon City.
Volunteers from Manila Water’s subsidiary, Clark Water Corporation, also lent their support in Bataan Provincial Government’s bid for a Guinness Book of World Record for the “most trees planted in one hour by a team of unlimited size in a single location”. A total of 223,390 seedlings were planted at the foot of the War Memorial Cross in Mt. Samat. The existing record is 208,751 seedlings planted by Talwandi Sabo Power Ltd (India) in Mansa, Punjab, India on October 30, 2015.
Manila Water has consistently organized and participated in tree-planting events in its commitment to protect the environment, especially the watersheds that provide raw surface water.
