Manila Water has recently honored the support given by San Juan City government for its advocacy program Toka Toka Lingap Sapa, a program of Manila Water that aims to promote proper used water management.
“San Juan City’s participation is instrumental in the success of our advocacy program Lingap Sapa as it would encourage other local government units to do the same,” shared Manila Water Head for Corporate Strategic Affairs Jeric Sevilla, Jr.
Manila Water earlier said the involvement of various national government agencies together with numerous LGUs made an impact and resulted to the smooth implementation of Lingap Sapa, a very vital contribution in reviving our rivers and waterways.
Sevilla also gave a short talk to recognize and congratulate the awardees, to extend Manila Water’s gratitude to the participation and support of San Juan City and to celebrate the award given by Public Relations Society of the Philippines to Toka-toka ‘Lingap Sapa’.
Manila Water presented a Certificate of Appreciation to San Juan City Mayor Guia Gomez along with the city officials for its commitment as partner for Manila Water’s advocacy.
Gomez for her part encouraged her constituents to continue to participate in this journey and hoped that there will be more barangays who will join the program to continue cleaning the environment.
“Thank you so much for an excellent service to our city,” Gomez added to acknowledge Manila Water.
The “Lingap Sapa” project has as its aim to educate, enforce and equip the community on how to care for the environment especially in cleaning up the waterways.
It is part of Manila Water’s overall “Toka Toka” campaign, the first and only environmental campaign in the Philippines on used water management.
