ABS-CBN broadcast journalist Karen Davila features the story of a former maintenance man who is now a wave pool resort owner in an early summer offering of “My Puhunan” on Tuesday (March 8).
Wave pools became popular in the country thanks to the innovations it presented, and it gave another alternative to one’s water-bound summer activities. You never had to go to the beach to experience riding along the waves or feel getting smashed by it.
Dennis Cruz, whose parents sold corn to put him through college in Bulacan State University, worked some odd jobs before he decided to establish a construction company that focused solely on constructing wave pools when his initial venture collapsed. Of the 50 wave pools in existence in the country, 30 of those were constructed by Dennis’ company.
Dennis was able to recoup his losses and built Cool Waves Ranch and Waterpark Resort in Bulacan where his earnings reach as high as P100,000 during peak season.
Watch “My Puhunan” this Tuesday (March 8) night after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN. Catch it at an earlier time on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable channel 26), 9:30PM.
