ABS-CBN Sports brings an inspiring combo of live sports events, finals matches, and stirring documentaries this Holy Week headlined by the Golden State Warriors’ celebration of Filipino Heritage Night when they host the Dallas Mavericks on Black Saturday (March 26), and the massive rumble between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Easter Sunday (March 27).
Basketball fans will get a treat starting March 25 when they see Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls try to tighten their hold on the eighth and final seed of the Eastern Conference bracket against Carmelo Anthony’s New York Knicks on Good Friday LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports + Action at 7:30am. On Black Saturday (March 26), the record-chasing Golden State Warriors led by MVP Stephen Curry lock horns with the Dallas Mavericks of Dirk Nowitzki LIVE at 10:30am on ABS-CBN as they also honor their Filipino fans at the Oracle Arena. Finally, a titanic match between Western Conference contenders the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder will happen on Easter Sunday (March 27), which will air LIVE on ABS-CBN Sports + Action at 8am.
Also being aired over the Holy Week are the UAAP Season 78 Women’s Tennis finals and Men’s Tennis finals on Holy Thursday (March 24) and Good Friday (March 25). See how the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs completed their three-peat run against the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses, while the NU Bulldogs nailed their fourth title against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons. Their matches will air on ABS-CBN Sports + Action starting from 2PM until 6PM.
For UAAP baseball fans, ABS-CBN Sports will air the first game of De La Salle University’s historic baseball finals win against the Ateneo Blue Eagles on Black Saturday (March 26) at 6PM. Game 2 of the baseball finals between DLSU and Ateneo will air the following day (March 27) also at 6PM.
Finally, for football fans, ABS-CBN Sports will also air the match of the Philippine Azkals against Uzbekistan in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers on Holy Thursday (March 24) at 8:45pm. Witness how Stephan Schrock, Carly de Murga, and Simone Rota and the rest of the team will try to avenge their 1-5 loss from their rivals last September 2015.
