On Sunday, February 14, you have a date with Cinema One’s Sunday Blockbusters as it treats you to the premiere TV screening of multi-million blockbuster hit “The Breakup Playlist”, produced by Star Cinema  and Viva Films.

This romantic drama film starring Piolo Pascual  and Sarah Geronimo  is written by blockbuster maker Antonette Jadaone and directed by her real beau Dan Villegas.  They gave to life characters of law student Trixie (Geronimo) and musician Gino (Pascual), whose paths cross because of their love for music. The two collaborate in a song and sparks fly for them and develop feelings for each other which eventually work for and against them.

The film was shown in just 180 cinemas nationwide but bested other international films on its first day opening gross with Php 15 million. The movie ruled the box-office chart taking the first spot over Hollywood movies. Due to positive reviews from the viewers, it was shown in more than 200 cinemas nationwide on its second day.

“…’Breakup Playlist’ has its heart and soul in all the right places,” wrote Oggs Cruz (rappler.com). “…the movie’s intention is really serious that it makes the audience re-validate past relationships, reconcilable differences and how one agree to disagree and make amends. I am still in awe…,” wrote Rod Magaru (rodmagaru.com).

Catch this Valentine treat from Cinema One this Sunday at 8pm only the country’s number cable channel.
