Residents of Tiaong, Quezon excitedly welcome Vice President and United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) standard bearer Jejomar “Jojo” Binay during UNA’s visit to the Southern Tagalog town Thursday. Hundreds also showed up to show support for Binay and UNA.

In his speech in Tiaong, Binay said poverty remains a problem 30 years after the EDSA People Power Revolution.

Noon hanggang ngayon, problema pa rin po ‘yan,” he said.

‘Yun ho ang nakakalungkot,” he added.

After Tiaong, Binay, together with his runningmate Senator Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan and the UNA senate slate, also visited the towns of Candelaria and Sariaya, as well as Lucena City. They are scheduled to barnstorm Tayabas, Lucban, and Mauban tomorrow.

On his part, Honasan reminded the public of what the People Power is all about. “Ang 1986 People Power Revolution ay hindi tungkol sa iisa o iilang mga personalidad o grupo kundi sa kapangyarihan ng nagka-isang sambayanan at kasundaluhan para sa makahulugang pagbabago,” he said.

The UNA bets were joined by Quezon Gov. David Suarez and former Quezon 3rd District and House Minority Floor Leader Danilo Suarez.
