“MMK” continues to bring stories of hope and inspiration as it celebrates its 25th year and brings to life this Saturday (June 4) another heartwarming tale of a Samal girl who fights for her dreams despite her life’s bitter circumstances.

Patma is a bright young girl who beams with positivity despite being born in a poor family. A consistent honor student, Patma also works at the market to help her struggling family. Seeing fellow Muslim kids in her neighborhood who do not go to school, she dreams of becoming a teacher in hopes of helping them someday.

However, tragedy strikes as Patma’s neighborhood is destroyed by a fire, including her school, and her family and others evacuate to her former school because they have nowhere to go.

After her family has lost everything, Patma’s mother (Princess Punzalan) also loses hope and even discourages Patma from dreaming of a better life. It also does not help her that the kids at her new school bullies her for being a Muslim.

How will she remain optimistic and driven even when her own mother urges her to forget about her dreams?

Joining this “MMK” episode are Allen Dizon, Peewee O’hara, Kokoy De Santos, Teetin Villanueva, Sexie Daulat, and Jomar Santicilles. The episode is directed by Dondon Santos and written by Benson Logronio. “MMK” is led by business unit head Malou Santos.

Meanwhile, “MMK” shows its heartfelt gratitude to all its letter senders by bringing them together in “MMK Kamustahan,” where they will get a chance to interact with host Charo Santos and catch up with one another. The first get-together will be held in Davao on July 9.

Charo will also reach out to other parts of the globe, delivering inspirational talks to overseas Filipinos in the “Kwentuhang Kapamilya” series. Global Kapamilyas will be given the opportunity to share their experiences living and working abroad. “Kwentuhang Kapamilya” will kick off in Madrid, Spain on June 26, and proceed to Hong Kong on July 24. Other legs include New Jersey, USA on September 9, Alberta, Canada on September 11, and Japan on October 16.
