The stars came out to sparkle and shine at the Promenade and Theater Mall on Tuesday, November 15.

Over a thousand small and big lanterns lit up one by one at the traditional Christmas Lighting Ceremony of Greenhills Promenade and Theater Mall, and this year, a star-studded cast participated in the countdown.

Encantadia star Sanya Lopez, Destiny Rose star Ken Chan, heartthrob Hiro Peralta, hunk Jak Roberto, model Mac Manicad, and veteran stars Tirso Cruz III, Carla Martinez, Donita Rose and Director Gina Alajar were on hand to press the button that would turn on the Christmas lights and lanterns. John Nite, co-star of the late German “Kuya Germs” Moreno in his Saturday show “Walang Tulugan”, merrily played event host for the night.

In the past, German “Kuya Germs” Moreno made it a point to glam up the Promenade Greenhills Christmas ritual by bringing along showbiz friends and alagas like Gloria Romero, Barbie Forteza, Jake Vargas, Bea Binene and others. This year, his “alagas” carried on the tradition on his behalf.

Music Museum Group Inc. president Precy M. Florentino said she will be forever grateful to Kuya Germs for his heartfelt support for Promenade, Theater Mall, Greenhills Cinemas and the Music Museum. “Every year he helps to make Christmas here shine with a lot of stars. This year I know he is still very much with us because all the stars seem to have come out tonight. We hope that our Christmas atmosphere here provides a sense of peace and happiness for everyone.”

The Christmas Lighting ceremony will kick off Christmas festivities at Promenade and Theater Mall starting with a Christmas Bazaar called Fashion + Toys = Christmas Joy every Thursday to Sunday from November 17 to December 11 and daily from December 15 to 22. On December 17 and 18, the Hanyang SM Wind Band from Seoul, Korea will perform at the Promenade Al Fresco from 6 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus will roam around Promenade and Theater Mall from 4 to 6 p.m. on December 17 and from 2 to 6 p.m. on December 18. Kids can have their selfies with Santa where they find him or at his very special Santa’s Corner. Allan Gonzales, The Promenade’s resident pianist, is back at his piano to fill the atmosphere with favorite Christmas songs.
