Sykes Asia, Inc. (SYKES) once again reaffirms its winning tradition proving that it is the home of the champions after bagging the Grand Champion title in the 2015 BPO Classics Tournaments (Basketball – Recreational Division) where one of its players emerged as this year’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Mike Henderson, Senior Vice President for Regional Operations (APAC) and Dean Van Ormer, Vice President and Country Manager (Philippines) welcomed the players as they presented to SYKES their trophies during a courtesy call. Dean expressed the company’s appreciation for their efforts. According to Dean, “SYKES can’t thank you enough. You represented our company well and we take pride in what you have achieved. “
Led by Geoff Que, the co-captain of the team, the players in return mentioned how they value the assistance they got from SYKES during the Philippines’ biggest BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) sports lifestyle tournament. He said, “It is really incredible. Each of us has been playing for various tournaments but it is a different feeling when you are playing and carrying the brand of your company. We are just so happy because we know that from the very start, we have the support of SYKES and its top management, like Mike and Dean”.
Meanwhile, SYKESer Alfredo Fulay, stood out during the basketball tournament where he was hailed as this year’s MVP (Recreational Division). When he was asked what inspired him to consistently deliver those shots and assists, he said that it was primarily because he knew he has the trust of his teammates.
Aside from bagging the Grand Champion title for the Basketball Game Recreational Division, another SYKES basketball team also placed as Semi-Finalist for the Competitive Division. Moreover, volleyball team players of SYKES made sure they created a mark in this year’s tournament by being a Finalist in the Men’s Volleyball Division after an intense game with their competitor.
Apart from winning those recognitions, all the players from the three teams agree that this tournament was a good activity to show other companies the strong sense of camaraderie
SYKES has among its employees. The players are also looking forward to the next tournament where they can compete and carry again the name of SYKES.
