The holidays are a time for much feasting and celebrating with family and friends. It is also an appropriate time to take stock of one’s blessings and make a gift of oneself by sharing a little or a lot. Executive Producer Eric Pugeda shares that “people are naturally caring, and they would welcome a venue where they can share with others.”

It is on this premise that TFC and ABS-CBN Foundation International (AFI) worked together to develop “The Power of Good: Isang Pamilya Tayo” a giving program that hopes to reach Kapamilya all over to appeal to their generosity to help the less fortunate, especially the children, back in the motherland. ABS-CBN Foundation International Managing Director Jerry Bennet says that “your help can spell the difference between hope and despair in the lives of millions of Filipinos.”

Gelo (Barangay USA) and Ginger Conejero (BA and Adobo Nation) co-host “The Power of Good,” together with AFI’s Bennett. According to Conejero, “we can do a lot of good in 30 minutes, which is the duration of the program.” The staff is optimistic that people will respond to this urgent call to believe in the power of good. Gelo, in his trademark and endearing comedic way, added that he is not just knocking on the hearts of people, but that he is even “ringing the doorbell on the hearts and wallets of our Kapamilya.”

Donations received fund the various programs of ABS-CBN Foundation International that focus on the areas of child care, environment conservation, education, disaster management, and community development.

In the spirit of giving and generosity that surrounds us this holiday season, viewers are encouraged to bring positive change in the lives of many.

Watch “The Power of Good: Isang Pamilya Tayo” this Friday, December 23rd at 6:40 P.M. (PST), preempting “Balitang America.” Replay telecast is on Monday, December 26th at 6:40 P.M. (PST).
