St Albans punk band Trash Boat have announced that they will release their debut album Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through on June 17th via Hopeless Records. Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through is available for pre-order now through iTunes: smarturl.it/NothingIWriteYou
The album was produced by The Wonder Years’ front-man Dan “Soupy” Campbell earlier this year, and it follows the band’s 2015 ‘Brainwork’ EP.
Trash Boat frontman, Tobi Duncan, explains: “Writing songs is my selfish source of cathartic release. If other people can vibe it and add some weight to counterbalance the rough times in life then I’m even happier, Working with Soupy really helped shape the songs into a debut album that we can proudly release.”
This album also marks Soupy’s debut behind the desk “This was my first time playing the role of the producer and Trash Boat made it easy on me. They work hard, they can really play, they’re passionate and they truly give a shit about the songs they’re writing. This record has weight and I feel like it’s going to be one of the more important debuts the genre has seen in some time.”
Alongside the album announcement, Trash Boat released a new song and music video for “Strangers”, which features Soupy and can be streamed now. You can also watch the album trailer on the Hopeless Records YouTube channel, here: smarturl.it/TrashBoatTrailer.
In May the band hit dates with Less Than Jake, Simple Plan, Chunk! No Captain Chunk and the Slam Dunk festival. Trash Boat have also announced a UK tour in support of the album’s release for June 2016, with WSTR and Weatherstate providing support. Trash Boat drummer, Oakley Moffatt, adds this about the album and the tour “We worked hard to try new things on this record and make sure we didn’t hold ourselves back in any way – we honestly can’t wait to play all of these songs live on our headline run in June with WSTR and Weatherstate”.
