Kapuso actress Carla Abellana recently won the hearts of Vietnamese fans.
She bagged the People’s Choice for Best Foreign Actress in “Face of the Year 2016,” an online poll conducted by International Media Corp. (IMC), one of the leading media groups in Vietnam.
Carla was lauded for her performance in the chart-topping 2014 GMA-7 soap opera, My Destiny.
“It’s an honor to be recognized and held in high esteem by Vietnamese fans,” Carla exclaims.
“I’m very happy our local productions are enjoying a wider viewership in the Asian region, and I’m equally proud of our other local actors who are getting noticed in the Asian arena as well.”
Aside from her acting prowess, the statuesque Filipina beauty has also been getting her fair share of foreign admirers and followers on social media because of her recent Asian conquest.
The “Face of the Year” awarding ceremony was held last January 6 at the Saigon Opera House in Ho Chi Minh City.
My Destiny ranks high among the list of Filipino soap operas enjoying wide viewership in the Asian region. To date, it has been bought by thirteen other territories, and has been earmarked for adaptation to other languages as well.
Because of her strong following in Vietnam and Cambodia, the Vietnamese TV network also bought the rights to another one of Carla’s top-rating Kapuso teleseryes, Because of You, scheduled to air in Vietnam later this year.
Her Palmolive shampoo commercial has also been enjoying extensive airplay in Cambodia.
Carla is currently managed by ALV Talent Circuit.
