Giving back to the community is among the best ways to start the year. In line with their enduring social purpose to bridge the healthcare gap in the country, Generika Drugstore recently conducted a medical mission at Fuente Osmeña Circle, Cebu City this January just in time for the Sinulog Festivities. More than 400 patients were served – Cebu locals who received free doctor’s consultations and even free medicines. During the medical mission, Generika also distributed helpful information about generic drugs.
This year’s medical mission was both fun and very convenient for the patients. Free transportation was available to bring them to the venue. Ten doctors and thirty volunteers from the Generika Visayas Team were present to give patients as much assistance and care they needed. A wide range of medications were given out during the mission from maintenance medicines, relief for cough, colds, diarrhea, and pain; including anti-allergy and dietary supplements. To complete their wellness experience, they were treated to an exhilarating Zumba work-out that they can learn and do on their own time. Patients who needed to relax were offered free massages.
True to the Sinulog spirit, Generika Drugstore also participated in the parade. Adorned with beautiful flowers with the Sto. Niño as the highlight, their float was made to look like a colorful Generika outlet store. Driven by their passion to serve and give back to the community, Generika joined Sinulog to help bridge the healthcare care gap in the country while bringing festive cheer to the people of Cebu.
