The heroism of our soldiers continues to be highlighted especially with the ongoing battle against terrorists in Marawi. While the troops are putting their lives on the line to serve and protect the nation, their families, particularly their children, must also be taken care of during difficult times.

HERO (Help, Educate and Rear Orphans) Foundation, an organization that provides support and educational stipends to military orphans, received a P2 million donation from the Lucio Tan-owned Asia Brewery Inc.’s (ABI) Cobra Energy Drink, with Dr. Lucio Tan himself (3rd from left) turning over the check donation to HERO Foundation. ABI has committed a total of P10 million, to be spread out in five years, as support for the organization.

The recent check donation brings the company’s support to date at P8 million. The ABI donation is allocated for the educational support and aid to some 625 military orphans in college or about 125 scholars per year. Future plans include providing scholarships to 1,250 military orphans from elementary to college or about 250 scholars a year.

Also seen in the photo are (from left) Hero Foundation trustee Aniceto Bisnar, Jr., Executive Director Ret. Maj. Gen. Victor Bayani, Basic Holdings President Ret. Lt. Gen. Salvador Mison and LT Group President and HERO Foundation trustee Michael G. Tan.
