Viewers have more reasons to look forward to “It’s Showtime” every day as the show introduced new segments this month and brought into the mainstream an online dance craze.
Spicing up noontime is “Funny One” season two grand champion Donna Cariaga, who continues to navigate love and relationships in her own stand-up segment “Donna What to Do, Donna What to Say.” Donna’s amusing stories and relatable ‘hugot’ jokes remain to enjoy a following as she inevitable crosses paths with Gemma, the jealous girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend James.
“It’s Showtime” also gives the madlang people a chance to shine through “W.E.R.P.A.H. (Woah! Extraordinary Real Pinoy Action Hero),” where contestants act and dress up like superheroes. In the segment, ordinary Filipinos get to use their creativity by devising their own superpower or “werpah” and showing it off in an entertaining manner.
The fun continues in another segment called “Copy-Cut,” where the hosts freeze in poses to copy a picture or a movie poster. The hosts are divided into two groups to compete, and the losing team gets a light punishment.
“It’s Showtime” also took on the viral “budots” dance or ”tagasaan ka?” challenge to the delight of the viewers. So far, videos of different Kapamilya stars who appeared on the show and erupting into a dance have earned thousands of views online.
Meanwhile, “It’s Showtime” looks back at the most memorable moments this 2017 in a year-end special airing this Saturday (Dec 30). The Quarter 3 semifinals of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” will kick off in January 2018, while the search for the members of an all-girl pop group called MNL48 will begin soon.
The madlang people are also in for more exciting treats on “It’s Showtime,” whose major fixtures include “Miss Q and A” and “Cash-Ya.”
