ePLDT, PLDT Enterprise Partners With Asia Cloud Computing Association For Digital Thought Leaders’ Summit On The Free Flow Of Data

ePLDT, Inc., the industry-leading enabler of digital business solutions in the Philippines, recently collaborated with Asia Cloud Computing Association (ACCA) and PLDT Enterprise to bring the ‘Digital Thought Leaders’ Summit: The Free Flow of Data and the Financial Services Sector in ASEAN and the Philippines’ to customers in Metro Manila.

The session was dedicated to present, seek feedback and consultation on how organizations in the banking, financial services and insurance sector can leverage on the free flow of data even at the face of the government’s ICT policies. This also opened the discussion on how enterprises and the public sector can work together in breaking down the barriers to ICT growth in the ASEAN region.

According to Angel Redoble, ePLDT Chief Information Security Officer, the free flow of data should remain unrestricted to achieve economic growth through data-driven technologies.

“The free flow of data should not be based on trust, but it should be supported. All barriers to the seamless flow of data should be put down. In the eyes of Cyber Security, everyone is held accountable,” Redoble said.

Guest speakers during the event were Chito Franco, Vice President and Head of PLDT ALPHA’s Corporate Relationship Management; Jose Mari Javier, Head of PLDT ALPHA’s Corporate Relationship Business; Dr. Dennis Reyes, Anti-Red Tape Technology Modernization Architect of the Department of Finance; Atty. Francis Acero, Chief of Complaints and Investigation Division of the National Privacy Commission; Lim May-Ann, Executive Director of the ACCA who also led the panel discussions; Griselda Santos, Senior Financial Sector Specialist of the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group; Tanya Hotchkiss, Executive Vice President of Cantilan Bank, Inc.; Hanna Mortel, ePLDT Head of Cloud Business Management; and Lito Villanueva, Managing Director and CEO of FINTQ by PLDT.
