The new Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish, from the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch portfolio, has finally arrived in Manila.
The first of the Blenders’ Batch releases to hit Philippine shores, Johnnie Walker will be releasing new blends from the innovative series in the succeeding years, starting with the Blenders’ Batch Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish.
Described as a bold experiment in flavor, the Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish blend has been drawn from over 200 whisky samples, aged in first-fill bourbon casks and finished for up to six months in former rye casks. Featuring whiskies from just five distilleries including Dufftown and the now closed Port Dundas, Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Bourbon Cask & Rye Finish pushes the boundaries of blending and offers surprising flavor sensations influenced by the intense sweetness of rye whiskey, married with the depth and subtlety of a carefully crafted Scotch.
Created as a result of hundreds of ongoing flavor experiments carried out by a small team of expert blenders at the brand’s home in Scotland, the new release is inspired by master blender Jim Beveridge‘s personal journey in Kentucky in the 1990s, spent blending bourbons and ryes.

The special series highlights experimental Scotch whiskies that are unlike tradition, and brings a fresh take on the distillery’s persistent pursuit of flavor and blend, extending from Johnnie Walker’s expert blenders for more than two centuries.
