The youthful executive director of the National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA), Jason Tengco, visited yesterday the
ABS-CBN offices in Quezon City, Philippines with a message for Filipinos to participate more in politics by running for office. Founded in 1997, NaFFAA is the largest national organization focused on leadership development, civic engagement, and advocacy for the 4 million Filipino Americans in the United States.
In his interview on “Market Edge with Cathy Yang”, Tengco former National Asian American & Pacific Islander Outreach Director for Hillary for America and Deputy Director for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders also emphasized that the new officers of NaFFAA aim to develop more Fil-Am youth for leadership roles in the community. NaFFAA elected its first millennial chairman last year inBrendan Flores, a banker from Jacksonville, Florida, who was among the three finalists under the Youth Category of the recently held ABS-CBN North America Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipino 2017.
In his visit to ABS-CBN, Tengco, accompanied by Fil-Am youth leaders, Chairperson of Filipino Intercollegiate Networking Dialogue Inc. (FIND Inc) Andrew Esmele and Filipino American Young Leaders Program (FYLPRO) Trip Director Lakhi Siap, also paid a courtesy call on ABS-CBN Head of Integrated News and Current Affairs Ging Reyes and guested with Esmele and Siap on “Playlist Mo” on MOR 101.9 For Life with popular DJ Eva Ronda.
