Twenty-year-old singer Alisah Bonaobra survives this week’s bootcamp in The X Factor UK but it wasn’t until she had to plead to judge Simon Cowell for a second chance.

In Sunday’s episode of the competition, Alisah is side-by-side with fellow Filipina, Gaga Lord, Rai Elle and Natalie when they sang Mariah Carey’s We Belong Together. After the performance, Simon Cowell said that one of them is going through and it wasn’t any of the Filipina hopefuls.

Everyone else walked to leave the stage except for Alisah who crouched on the stage in disbelief and not taking no for an answer. It can be seen that Gaga Lord was consoling the young lady.

Judge Nicole Scherzinger left her seat to join the weeping Alisah on stage and asked her what she wanted to do. While crying she told the lady judge “Please can I have a second chance?”

It was this time to everyone’s surprise when she sang a line from their performance song which caught Simon’s attention. “Based on what you’ve just done there, from what I can hear, we’re gonna give you a pass on this one,” said Simon.

The Filipina singer did not disappoint the next time she went on stage. She performed her version of Defying Gravity from the musical Wicked, and is now moving to the Six Chair Challenge.

After the song, judges Nicole Scherzinger and Sharon Osbourne were on their feet along with the people from the audience who clearly enjoyed her performance.

Follow Alisah’s journey on The X Factor UK on RTL CBS Entertainment. The X Factor UK airs first and exclusive on RTL CBS Entertainment same day as the UK on Sundays and Mondays at 10:30am with primetime encores Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays at 9:00pm.

RTL CBS Entertainment is available on SKYcable channels 53(SD) and 196(HD), SKYdirect channel 35, Destiny Cable channel 53, and Cablelink channels 37(SD) and 313(HD).
