Filipinos lit up Twitter to express their thoughts and feelings for the much awaited #IlluminateWorldTour concert of the Canadian singer-songwriter Shawn Mendes (@ShawnMendes). Held last Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, fans sang along and shared their unforgettable experiences on Twitter. There were over 880,000 Tweets related to #ShawnWorldTourManila (12-19 March). Known for being avid music lovers, it wasn’t a surprise to see Tweets that show Pinoy fans sing along with Shawn as he performed his popular songs.
If the fans were truly excited for his performance, the artist himself was thrilled singing for his Filipino fans which he later shared as ‘one of the loudest crowds in the world.’
Prior to the concert, Twitter together with Music Management International or MMI Live (@mmilive), gave fans exclusive access to get to know more about Shawn through a series of Twitter videos. Hosted by Isabella Pascua (@IsabellaOPascua), the daughter of Rhiza Pascua (@itsarpee) of MMI; Shawn answered fans’ questions candidly about his music, lyrics, and other personal things.
