This year, the Philippines’premier healthcare facility has tied up with HEADS by volu-med salon, which provides solutions for hair problems through hair services integrating quality hair systems and wigs. HEADS by volu-med salon will provide free haircut and styling to those who will donate to the program on June 1. Donated hair should at least be nine (9) inches long. Any hair type, including gray and white hair, will be accepted.
“Every strand of donated hair counts, and so we encourage everyone to join us on June 1,” said Ma. Felina Rosario P. Cruz, MD, Unit Head, Cancer Center Supportive Care Services. “With our country’s constant warm weather andschool about to start for some, there are many reasons for people to go for shorter hair. Best of all is that they can get a free haircut on us while making patients happy and bringing back their confidence.”
“People with cancer have to cope not only with the emotionally and physically taxing treatment and its side-effects, including hair loss,” said Victor K. Gozali, MD, Co-Director of the Cancer Center. “This hair donation drive is our small way of giving support to these brave patients.”
