Out of 15 dance crews, nine schools remain to battle for street dance supremacy in the upcoming “MYX Moves Street Dance Competition” Grand Finals on October 14 (Saturday) at the KIA Theatre.

The MYX Moves Street Dance Competition is a flagship event of MYX, the country’s number one music channel, where the strongest high school dance crews in Mega Manila battle it out for the top spot as this year’s Grand Champion. Fresh original dance tracks from Star Music are incorporated in the crews’ choreography.

MYX voters awardee Fort Bonifacio High School

In the semi-finals held recently at the Ayala Malls South Park, Dance X of Xavier School set the stage on fire as they bested the Boys Division and ranked first with an average of 87.67%. The lads of Marist School’s High Impact landed 2nd and Paco Catholic School’s PCS Street placed 3rd with 86.33% and 82.5% respectively.

The ladies of School of the Holy Spirit’s Agalaia reigned queens on stage as they slew the Girls Division, landing in first place with 92.17%. They were followed by St. Paul College Pasig’s Terpsichore with 91% in second place and Dominican College Dance Troupe with 83.5% in third.

Meanwhile, the School of St. Anthony’s DanSSA led the tough competition in the Co-Ed Division, ranking first with 89.83%. Colegio San Agustin’s CSA Dance Troupe followed suit with 86% in second place, and Bulihan National High School with 83.9% in third. Although they did not make the cut, Fort Bonifacio High School’s FBHS Contemporary Danzza was able to bag the MYX Voter’s Award and a cash prize of P10,000.

Girls Division Semi-Finalists

The MYX Moves semi-finals was hosted by MYX VJ’s Ai and Sunny with MJ Arda of A-Team, Lema Diaz of the Philippine All Stars, and Von Asilo of The Crew as members of the panel of judges. R&B singer Kris Lawrence and hip-hop dance troupe The Alliance also made an impact on the audience with their powerful performances.

The MYX Moves Grand Champion will be rewarded with a whopping P100,000 cash prize, while the ultimate dancer with fierce passion and finesse that garners the most votes will be crowned “MYX Supreme Mover,” and will be able take home P10,000 in cash.

Boys Division Semi-Finalists

You may still vote for the MYX Supreme Mover until October 13, 2017 (11:59PM). Catch the MYX Moves Semi-Finals’ airing on “MYX Presents” this October. MYX is on Skycable channel 23. For more information visit www.myxmoves.myxph.com.
