Filipino music legend Joey Ayala is set to headline an all-star show on September 16, Saturday at the Music Museum.

Dubbed Mandiriwa, the concert marks the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s comeback show at Music Museum where exactly 25 years ago, he simultaneously launched his three groundbreaking records Panganay Ng Umaga, Magkabilaan, and MgaAwit ng Tanod-lupa.

Get to know Joey Ayala’s parallel occupation as a wisdom-worker through a world-class music showcase that celebrates his legacy as an artist’s artist. The accomplished and award-winning artist will be performing timeless classics and new songs that mirror the collective experiences and struggles of ordinary Filipino people.

With his immaculate blend of Filipino ethnic instruments and alternative music, expect a deeply original set that solidifies his reputation as a music legend. No less than Gloc-9, Bayang Barrios, Dong Abay, Bullet Dumas, Juan Miguel Severo, and Ang Bagong Lumad band will be joining the folk icon for this once-in-lifetime event, so get yourself in the mood for a diverse repertoire that showcases genre-bending experimentation and intimate musicality.

As a proponent of capacity-building learning methods that incorporate songwriting and mind-mapping sessions in some of his music shows, Joey Ayala will also be conducting short workshops in between sets to engage the audience and help them understand their inner selves.

Mandiriwa is the fifth of the many planned shows by Vandals Entertainment and Gabi Na Naman Productions that aim to give homegrown acts an opportunity to make history and be part of something big. It’s the partner productions’ fifth concert offering following the sold-out success of Damá at the Music Museum featuring Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, and Bullet Dumas; Damá: The Repeat featuring the same set of artists; Secrets: #AiaBarbieKitchie Live at the Music Museum; and Secrets: The Repeat featuring the same set of artists.
