Do you know the names Marshall, Chase, Skye, Rubble, Rocky, Zuma, and Everest? If you do, then chances are your kids and the young ones in your family are fans of “PAW Patrol,” the hit Nickelodeon animated series featuring a boy named Ryder who leads the pack of aforementioned rescue dogs, and work with the pups on missions to protect their community.
Here is a chance to treat your kids to an exciting, high-energy musical adventure as “PAW Patrol” goes live on stage with “PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue.” This much-awaited show is scheduled on October 28-29, 2017 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
In this stage adaptation, the pups come to the rescue when Mayor Goodway goes missing on the day of the Great Adventure Bay Race, proving that “no job is too big, no pup is too small.” Inspired by real-world jobs (fire fighter, a police officer, and a construction worker), the show teaches kids lessons on citizenship, social skills, and problem-solving by highlighting the importance of each member’s unique skills, and how success could be attained with teamwork.
Audiences will be in for a truly unique and engaging experience. The characters are brought to life using Bunraku puppetry, a unique live-theater approach originating from Japan. According to VStar Entertainment group producer Jim Waters, puppetry elements are built into the costumes worn by the actors, creating an atmosphere that would allow the life-sized pups to “make a stronger connection with the audience.” He adds that the song and dance numbers bring “a fun, realistic parallel between the animated series and the live show.”
Featuring lively music and a cleverly written script, the show is a great introduction to live theater for kids. Families will be treated to classic theatrical scenery, displayed in a state-of-the-art video wall that transports the viewer to locations based on the TV series, like Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Yumi’s Farm, and Jake’s Mountain. A special interactive video allows the audience to participate via interviews and solving clues with the gang, among others.
Paw Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” will run from October 28-29, 2017, with two shows a day at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are now on sale at www.ticketnet.com.ph, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Box-office, and all TicketNet outlets, including the new one on Level 1 Robinson’s Department Store in Galleria.
