It was a star-studded episode of ASAP Chillout when the #PushAwards2017 revealed the social media-savvy Kapamilya celebrities who reigned as the network’s biggest digital media stars of the year this afternoon. As a public platform and to #SeeEverySide of a story happening real time, Twitter is the place for idols to connect with their fans and vice versa. The platform captured today’s awarding show in real time as excited fans and celebrities Tweeted their reactions.
The hashtag #PushASAPLizQuen and Push Award nominees Elisse Joson and Yassi Pressman made it to the Philippine trending list since the awarding show started.
The Twitter verse has been on fire since August 20 as fans became really creative and pulled every trick in the book to trend and dominate Twitter for the entire month.
Fans have also been Tweeting their hashtags in the bid to earn the title Ultimate Fan, which recognizes the fans’ efforts to get conversations about their idols trending on Twitter. This year, the fandom that took home this award was #MayWard with their trending hashtag #PushAwardsMaywards.
Organized by Philippine’s Ultimate Showbiz Hub (PUSH) (@PushAlerts), the awards recognize celebrities who actively connect with their fans through social media and are now considered some of the country’s top digital media influencers. There were more than 62.5 million Tweets related to the #PushAwards2017 during the voting process (20 August – 24 September).

On 4 September, #KathNiel fans celebrated sixth year anniversary of the loveteam while #MayWard fans were on a major voting rally, which collectively generated 3.6 million Tweets per minute.
The holiday on 21 August generated a flood of Tweets posted by #MayWard, #KathNiel and #LizQuen fans, which resulted to more than 2.4 million Tweets per minute.
Another wave of voting push ensued on 9 September, which spawned more than 1.9 million Tweets per minute.
The most anticipated award of the day was the Group/Tandem award; this was awarded to the group – or in this case, couple – who had the most engagement on the online platforms. MayWard supporters did not make it easy for the other groups to win the top slot in the most popular Group/Tandem category. The fan base pulled all stops for their idols and dominated Twitter for the entire month. Upon hearing the couple’s victory, Twitter exploded with positive reactions from their fans.
