The madlang people’s support for “It’s Showtime” has remained strong and steady through the years, as it continues to give hope and highlight the inspiring stories and talents of ordinary Filipinos.

Grateful for its loyal viewers, “It’s Showtime” showcases the madlang people’s everyday struggles and aspirations through its heartwarming and exciting segments.

The return of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on television gave chance to aspiring Filipino singers from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Metro Manila to pursue their dreams and prove they have what it takes to be the next OPM icons.

Tawag ng Tanghalan grand finalists Froilan, Noven, Rachel, Sam, Eumee, Pauline, Maricel, Marielle, Carlmalone, Mary Gidget

Aside from the contestants’ inspiring stories and impressive vocals, viewers also watched the contestants pull out all the stops to avoid the infamous ‘gong’ and impress the hurados, OPM legends Rey Valera, Yeng Constantino, Karla Estrada, Karylle, Billy Crawford, Nyoy Volante, K Brosas, Bobot Mortiz, Mitoy Yonting, Rico J. Puno, Louie Ocampo, Kyla, Erik Santos, Jaya, and Ogie Alcasid.

And after more than a year of intense vocal battles, the time has come to determine the first-ever “Tawag ng Tanghalan” champion as the top five grand finalists battle it out for supremacy on March 11 (Saturday) at Resorts World Manila. The champion will win P2 million, a house and lot, a musical package, and a recording contract.

“It’s Showtime” also kept viewers hooked on the guessing game in “TrabaHula,” where hardworking ‘madlang workers’ got to share the experiences and challenges they face on the job. Viewers also learned lessons on love and some hugot lines from “Dancing in Tandem: Nagmahal. Nasaktan. Nagsayaw.”

Women 35 years and older were also given the chance to own the stage and show their dancing skills in “KemboTitas.” “Sinong Nanay Mo?,” meanwhile, did not just show Filipino kids’ intelligence but also the nurturing and supportive relationship between mothers and their children.

Aspiring models brought entertainment to a whole new level in “It’s Showtime’s Next Tough Model” as they impressed viewers with their creativity and fierce poses.

In “It’s Showtime,” bigger is also better as it introduced Amy Perez, Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, and Joey Marquez as its newest additions to the family, bringing even more good vibes and fun.

Hashtags and Girltrends

Also bringing entertainment and kilig are the boys of Hashtags with their good looks and killer dance moves. The beautiful and talented girls of GirlTrends, meanwhile, showcased their dancing skills that swooned male audiences.

Despite the new segments and members, the “Showtime” family, led by hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Vhong Navarro, Billy, Karylle, Jhong Hilario, Jugs and Teddy, and Ryan Bang remain devoted to making the madlang people happy.

More viewers also preferred watching “It’s Showtime” in 2016, according to data from Kantar Media. It recorded an average national TV rating of 17.9% for the whole year, compared to “Eat Bulaga’s” 13.2%s.

Meanwhile, don’t miss the much-awaited week-long “Tawag ng Tanghalan: Ang Huling Tapatan,” with grand finalists Maricel Callo, Mary Gidget dela Llana, Pauline Agupitan, Marielle Montellano, Noven Belleza, Eumee Capile, Sam Mangubat, Carlmalone Montecido, Froilan Canlas, and Rachel Gabreza vying for the grand title.

The madlang people can also look forward to more world-class performances, this time, from kids, as “Tawag ng Tanghalan Kids” debuts soon on “It’s Showtime.”

Don’t miss the fun and good vibes in “It’s Showtime,” weekdays on ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167). Watch the program’s past episodes on iWant TV or on skyondemand.com.ph for Sky subscribers.
