Somedaydream And Nicole Asensio Cover “City Of Stars” From “La La Land”!

Two of today’s leading artists from MCA Music (Universal Music Philippines), Somedaydream and Nicole Asensio, released a local cover of Justin Hurwitz’ masterpiece, “City of Stars,” from the Oscar-nominated film, “La La Land.” The cover comes out in anticipation for this year’s Academy Awards, which will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on February 26, 2017.

Just recently, sultry singer-songwriter Nicole Asensio and Rez Toledo the man behind the electronic music sensation Somedaydream performed together for D5 Studio Live Originals, an exclusive online concert series that gives viewers the chance to watch top local artists collaborate. D5 Studio Live Originals: Somedaydream x Nicole is an eight-track collection that features a mix of covers and original songs by Nicole and Somedaydream. It opens with their unique spin on the Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight.”

Composer Justin Hurwitz’ “City of Stars” (Performed by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone) and “Audition (The Fools Who Dream)” (Performed by Emma Stone) are currently nominated at The 89th Academy Awards for Best Original Song.

La La Land: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack which features songs from Lionsgate’s original musical, La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling is now available for via digital retailers here: https://getmusic.lnk.to/LaLaLandSoundtrackEm. The album is also available in CDs at select Astroplus/Astrovision stores. Songs on the soundtrack were written by Justin Hurwitz, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The album was produced by Justin Hurwitz, Marius de Vries and Steven Gizicki.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle, “La La Land” tells the story of Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, who are struggling to make ends meet in a city known for crushing hopes and breaking hearts. Set in modern day Los Angeles, this original musical about everyday life explores the joy and pain of pursuing your dreams.
