In support to the country’s local handicraft industry and the communities that make them, the Community Crafts Association of the Philippines (CCAP), is having its first advocacy run dubbed, TAKKKBO 2017, on May 13, 2017 in Pasay City.
“TAKKKBO represents our three main advocacies, namely: environmental protection (Kalikasan), women empowerment (Kababaihan), and livelihood development (Kabuhayan),” explains CCAP Executive Director Voltaire Alferez.
Now on its 44th year, CCAP’s work centers in providing livelihood opportunities to marginalized families, by linking small and medium scale entrepreneurs to buyers and resellers, locally and abroad. Their domestic line, launched last July 2015 is called, Likhang Atin. Proceeds from the event will go to CCAP’s program fund.
Participants can join in the 10K, 5K, and 3K categories, while kids can take part in the 500-meter dash. The top three winners from each category will each receive a medal and special prizes. Assembly area will be at the Liwasang Ullalim, CCP Complex, Pasay City. Gunstart is at 6:00 am.
The event will be capped by a free 60-minute ‘Strong by Zumba’ session – the newest high intensity cardio workout, to be lead by a certified ZIN member.
