CBN Asia brings you 3 inspiring stories about freedom and redemption from torment and abuse in its much anticipated Holy Week Special, The 700 Club Asia Presents Sais-Katorse and Nuno, and Tanikala Presents Wasak which airs on GMA, April 13-15, 2017 for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Black Saturday respectively.
Commercial model, host, and DJ, Sonjia Calit-Kakilala plays the role of Aubrey Juanta in Sais-Katorse, a true-to-life story of sexual and physical abuse which will be shown on Maundy Thursday, April 13 at 6:00 p.m.
How did Aubrey meet freedom from her whirlwind of misfortunes that started when her own father destroyed her innocence as her mother allows it?
“The main take away for me here is that God is sovereign and able to turn things around for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose,” Sonjia said in vernacular.
“There’s no life that He cannot change. I hope that everyone who will watch this will see that God is really powerful and He is always in the business of turning lives around,” she added.
Meanwhile, the true-to-life story of Armand Valdez in his fortune-and-torment experienceswith the dwarves entitled, Nuno, airs April 14, Good Friday at 6:00p.m.
Portrayed by former child star now theater actor, BJ “Tolits” Forbes, Armand was trapped in a covenant he created with the dwarves or nuno sa punso, which tormented him when he wanted to cut ties with them because of a change in faith. Did his faith save him?
“Always be firm in your faith. You’ll meet struggles and hardships along the way but always hold on. Don’t let your circumstances destroy your faith in God,” BJ said when asked about what he learned from the telemovie.
On the other hand, Wasak, is the true-to-life story of Jonaver Luklukan, which airs on April 15, Black Saturday, at 5:30 p.m.
Played by theater actor, director, and CBN Asia’s Special Projects Manager Icko Gonzalez, Wasak is about Jonaver’s struggle with sexual abuse, desperation, and drug abuse. Is there a way out of this terribly messy life?
“Holy Week is a perfect time to reflect. It is our hope that after watching these specials, our viewers would realize that life is much bigger than our personal agenda. We all have to realize that we were all created for God’s purposes and the Lord gave everything for us to live free and abundant lives.” Icko expressed.
