The first batch of teen artists with extraordinary voices will face superstar coaches Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, and Sharon Cuneta of “The Voice Teens,” as the highly anticipated blind auditions begin on Easter Sunday (April 16) on ABS-CBN.
“There’s so much talent. It’s hard to keep from turning. For me, if an artist gives me goosebumps and has something I can work with, then I have to turn. Sometimes I do find myself in a spot where I don’t know what to do with an artist but I turn anyway, because they deserve to know that I like what they did regardless of whether or not they eventually choose me,” shared coach Lea.
Coach Bamboo, meanwhile, said that he has been very meticulous when it comes to turning around for artists that he wants on his team after coaching in the regular at kids edition.
“I’ve been very patient this beginning of the season. I guess if you’ve been in six seasons, you become more patient. I’m already looking for a particular sound or act. If an artist doesn’t get in, it’s hard, but not as hard as the kids. I think for teenagers, they can handle it. What’s important is I give my opinion on their performance, I teach,” said the rock icon.
In “The Voice Teens,” coaches Lea, Sarah, Bamboo, and Sharon will have to assemble 14 artists to form a team by the end of the blind auditions. The season will also allow the coaches to use the ‘steal’ in the battle rounds.
Excitement has also run high for the return of coach Sarah, who promises to fight for the artists she believes in and teach them valuable lessons she has picked up through the years.
“I have mixed emotions. I’m happy that I’m finally back. I’m doing this for aspiring teenagers who are really talented. But some things don’t change. It remains a challenge to me because I’m not that good at selling myself and speaking. But it’s a good training ground for me to practice my speaking skills and be outspoken,” said the popstar royalty.
Coach Sharon shared, “The rapport was instant because I’ve known Sarah for some time and I had a whole season with Lea and Bamboo. It was just like coming home and continuing the fun. Whenever I get chosen by an artist, “nakakakilig,” because there are four of us and I’m the most senior.”
Don’t miss the teen artists who will give inspiration and share their extraordinary talent in “The Voice Teens.” It will be hosted by premier and award-winning hosts Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga.
