Dental practitioners will have a rare chance to listen to oral maxillo facial surgeon and dental implant authority, Dr. Peter Moy in a special one-day conference in the Philippines as he will be flying from Los Angeles, California to share his knowledge on dental implants. The conference will happen on November 19, 2017 at the Rizal Ballroom, Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
A clinical professor of oral and maxillo facial surgery in the Division of Diagnostic and Surgical Sciences at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry, Dr. Moy is the first person to hold the Nobel Biocare Endowed Chair in Surgical Implant Dentistry, and the current Director of Straumann Surgical Dental Clinic at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Dentistry.
He is a visiting professor at the School of Stomatology, Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an, China, and at the Guanghua College of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China. He is also the author of Volume I Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry: Prosthodontic Principles, Volume II Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry: Surgical Principles, Immediate Function & Esthetics in Implant Dentistry, and Esthetic Implant Dentistry: Soft and Hard Tissue Management.
Aside from being in the academe, Dr. Peter Moy maintains a private practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery in Brentwood, California.
Dr. Moy’s expertise in dental implants is the result of his extensive training under Dr. Per-Ingvar Branemark, considered the father of modern dental implantology. The late Dr. Branemark’s work in osseointegration led to the development and widespread acceptance of dental implants in dental school and training programs.
At the conference, Dr. Moy will discuss the latest development in osseointegration, including a live surgery. Through this conference, Dr. Moy hopes to motivate and inspire Filipino practitioners to elevate the standards of dental implants in the Philippines.
“My main mission is to train professional dentists the proper methods in implant dentistry,” said Dr. Moy. “As doctors, what we want to establish is the commitment to want to be better. Our aim is to improve skills and knowledge. ”
The Dental Implant Conference is presented by Straumann Philippines, the world leader in implant, restorative, and regenerative dentistry, in partnership with the Philippine Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and Philippine Prosthodontic Society.
