Batanguenos are now among the millions of Filipinos who can experience watching a variety of channels in crystal clear picture and audio via ABS-CBN TVplus, the pioneering digital terrestrial product of ABS-CBN, as the network has started its digital TV broadcast in Batangas last November 10.
ABS-CBN officially introduced the ‘mahiwagang black box’ to the province in a ceremonial switch-on event held in Lipa City’s Youth and Cultural Center, accelerating the network’s commitment to migrate viewers from analog to digital television viewing experience before 2023.
The milestone was also marked by a special concert in Lipa featuring the Kapamilya network’s stars led by Richard Gutierrez, “It’s Showtime’s” Hashtag members McCoy De Leon, Charles Kieron, Rayt Carreon, and Maru Delgado; and a slew of “Tawag ng Tanghalan” artists including the TNT Divas Rachel Gabreza and Remy Luntayao; Aila Santos; Hazelyn Cascano of HALA; “TNT Cove” Christian Bahaya, JM Bales, and Sofronio Vasquez; and Jex de Castro, Mark Michael Garcia, Tuko delos Reyes, and Reggie Tortugo.
Besides free-to-air channels ABS-CBN and ABS-CBN S+A, residents in Batangas can also catch “Sorpresaya,” a new weekday game show hosted by Kapamilya komikeros Jobert Austria and Nonong Ballinan together with “It’s Showtime” “Miss Q & A” finalist, Elsa Droga that airs on TVplus’ exclusive channel CineMo, an all-day movie channel. CineMo also airs a mix of foreign and local classic and action movies such as titles top billed by Fernando Poe Jr., Dolphy, Robin Padilla, and more.
Meanwhile, kids will love tuning into another TVplus exclusive channel called YeY, all-day kids entertainment channel that features popular cartoon shows like “Spongebob Squarepants,” “The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron,” “Paw Patrol,” “My Hero Academia,” and “Digimon Adventure Tri,” as well as the all-kids daily show, “Team YeY.”
Other exclusive channels include Knowledge Channel, an educational channel airing curriculum-based programs for primary and secondary students and DZMM TeleRadyo, which offers the live broadcast of programs from DZMM Radyo Patrol 630.
