Araneta Center Artists Hold First Exhibit For A Cause

Fourteen employees from Araneta Center pool their artistic talents for Beginnings: Art for Hope, a charity exhibit that will benefit the key programs of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation.

Fourteen employees from Araneta Center pool their artistic talents for Beginnings: Art for Hope, a charity exhibit that will benefit the key programs of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation. Beginnings is an open theme exhibit that gathers the diverse artworks created by select Araneta Center employees. They belong to the different departments of the company such as Archives, Business Development, Marketing, Clinic, Property Administration, Architectural & Engineering. There are over 40 artworks on display that use various media such as oil, acrylic, yarn, ballpoint, pencil and charcoal. Beginnings opened on February 14, Wednesday, at Gateway Gallery in Araneta Center, Quezon City. The exhibit will run until February 28, 2018.

Nanola Inspirasyon

Beginnings is a first for Araneta Center wherein employees were given the opportunity to showcase their visual art talent legitimate art space. Participating employee-artists include Gari Apolonio, Rustom Aquino, Mia de Leon, TG Gavino, Maritess Gonzaga, Jeffrey Erneil Nanola, Christine Diane Romero, Maia Salamat, Justine Santos, Bernadette Tan, Cathy Tarrobal and Helen Valenzuela. A portion of the sold artworks of the artists will be used to the priority projects of the J. Amado Araneta Foundation. The works are varied in terms of medium and style and reflect the various perspectives of the employees.

The J. Amado Araneta Foundation was founded in 2002 and is the corporate social responsibility arm of the Araneta Center Inc. dedicated to the vision and legacy of J. Amado Araneta. Don Amado, as he was fondly called, was the founder of the Araneta Group of Companies. Known for his business acumen and for his concern for the less privileged, Don Amado believed that the “poor should have access to affordable products, services and facilities.” The Foundation’s core projects are (1) Education, (2) Community Development, (3) Spiritual and socio-civic enrichment and (4) Culture, Arts and Sports development.

Gateway Gallery is the art museum of Araneta Center. It is open from Monday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. It is located at the 5F of Gateway Tower, Araneta Center, Quezon City. Admission to the museum and use of SiningLakbay augmented reality is free.
