Mynt, a financial technology company owned by Globe Telecom and Ant Financial, announced that the GCash QR-based mobile payment technology is now available in all Walter Mart branches in the country including the newly-opened W Mall in Pasay City.
This will enable Walter Mart customers to pay for their purchases through their GCash App, thereby, eliminating the need to bring cash and ensuring payment security and convenience while shopping.
Using the Scan to Pay feature of the GCash App is simple. A customer with an iPhone or an Android smartphone only needs to download or update to the latest version of the GCash App, register an account, and fund the GCash wallet at any of over 15,000 GCash Partner Outlets nationwide which now includes all the Walter Mart Malls. Once done, the customer just has to tap on Scan QR, point a phone’s camera at the partner’s QR code, and pay.
“Walter Mart’s commitment to provide the modern Filipino family a venue where they can shop, dine and entertain themselves all in a single environment and most-suited for their everyday lifestyle is very much aligned with what we do at Mynt. We plan to support this commitment by enabling a better customer experience through cashless transactions,” said Anthony Thomas, President and CEO of Mynt.
“In Walter Mart, delivering customer satisfaction is our foremost promise. From the selection of our location, to the modern design of our malls and its facilities, to the well-selected tenant mix, engaging promotions and from the minute our customers walk in, right up to the time they leave, the delivery of that promise is our No.1 priority. We opened our newest addition, W Mall with GCash because we believe that this partnership can further improve our customer’s shopping and dining experience,” said Joanne Lim Co, Managing Director for Walter Mart Supermarkets.
Walter Mart Malls, is the first to introduce the community shopping center format in the country with the goal of providing convenience and comfort to the customers. Called the “everyday mall,” it is a place people are most likely to visit before they proceed to work or before they go home.
