Music and singing are Austin Solita‘s best suit. His love and passion for music had always been his fuel to strive harder. It has earned him unbelievable achievements even at the young age of 27.

Being an alumnus of the University of Makati Chorale, Austin went under the wings of one of the pillars of the Philippine Madrigal Singers, Professor Elsie Z. Eranista. This, coupled with pieces of training from the CCP and the UP College of Music, equipped him with a remarkable singing expertise allowing more opportunities for him as a musician.

In 2007 he was one of the performers in the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program.

He was the Grand Winner of the prestigious Kundiman Competition of the City of Makati and sang with his fellow Singing Ambassadors at the Esplanade Singapore for the Singapore Cultural Festival in 2010.

In the year 2013 – 2014, he became one of the adjudicators in the annual PhilPop Competition led by Mr. Ryan Cayabyab.

But his greatest feat yet was when he became the representative of the Philippines in the World Championships of Performing Arts last June 2017 in Long Beach California USA. He competed in more than 60 countries. There were 2 categories whereby Austin won bronze medals. For the Opera category, he sang an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandott “Nessun Dorma” popularized by Luciano Pavarotti, and for the Gospel category, he did David Phelps “The Lord’s Prayer”

Austin represented the country for the 2nd time last November 2017 in the 5th Karaoke World Championship held in Helsinki Finland where he won 5th place in duet category together with the Singaporean singer Jessie Yeong. They sang “Beauty and the Beast” and “I am Your Angel” during the elimination round, For the Grand finals, they did David Foster’s “The Prayer” who popularized by Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion. He is also one of the semi-finalist in the solo category where he competed in more than 20 countries. He sang David Phelp’s version of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” and his own rendition of “The Impossible Dream” for the elimination round, and during the semi-finals of solo category, he did his own version of “This is the Moment” from the musical Jekyll & Hyde.

This once in a lifetime experience gave him a chance to prove to the world that the Filipino talent is indeed World Class.

The support from his family, friends and even his old high school teachers, fuelled him even more to reach his dream.

“I am blessed to be with amazing people. They have been very supportive of my journey to the World Championships of Performing Arts and Karaoke World Championships, and I couldn’t thank them enough,” said Austin.

He also thanks the National Director Gerry Mercado for guiding him in his quest for triumph in the WCOPA, the country manager of KWC Mr. Ronald Rose and the Asia Pacific Director of KWC Ms. Elle Quan.
