Greeting 2018 with a new music video single, electronic music producer MMXJ is set to release “Adventure” on Friday 26 January 2018 independently on all major streaming platforms worldwide.
On Adventure, MMXJ turns to a more pop-production that shines a spotlight on the soulful timbre and writing of Irish singer and song-collaborator James Ty. Set in the mosaic mystery of Hong Kong’s cityscape, the Adventure music video dives headfirst into the magic of the Pearl of the Orient, delivering a kaleidoscope of day-to-day scenes and neon-lit time lapses.
The Singapore-based producer notes that with “Adventure,” he wanted to convey a new sense of joy and purpose for living, reminding listeners that life was something to be cherished and lived to its individual fullest.
It’s this cocktail of feel-good optimism and sentimentalism that has seen MMXJ gather a steadily increasing audience in Asia and beyond, with previous release “Find You” garnering more than 40,000 Spotify plays within a month of its release. The producer’s songs have been increasingly noticed outside of the island-nation’s shores, with popular Swedish music blog POPMUZIK praising MMXJ’s ear for a melodic hook and good combination of pop and dance vibes, while US-based tastemaker Gems & Secrets noted the artist’s “top-tier production” drawing threads from future bass and trance.
