The Department of Education (DepEd) launched their flagship program OK sa DepEd in the city of Muntinlupa through an interactive session held at Poblacion Elementary School (POBES). The launch coincided with the blessing of the school’s new multi-purpose covered court and was attended by representatives from the different schools in the city.
OK sa DepEd focuses on the five major school health programs of the Department: School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP); National Drug Education Program (NDEP); Adolescent Reproductive Health Education (ARH); Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) in Schools (WinS) Program; and medical, nursing, and dental services. DepEd first introduced the program in Makati City and the launch at POBES signals its roll out for the city of Muntinlupa.
Present during the launch to show their support were Mayor Jaime R. Fresnedi and Congressman Ruffy Biazon. Also in attendance were stakeholders from private companies such as Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines Inc. (PCPPI), who has been a long-time partner of the Department of Education (DepEd) and the local government Muntinlupa in promoting activities for the area focused on education and nutrition.
