Sitel, the BPO subsidiary of Sitel Group, one of the world’s largest customer experience management companies, was honored with two illustrious Bronze Stevie Awards. The company’s Sitel Academy received the “Award for Innovation in Community Relations and Public Service Communications: Empowering the Youth and Aspiring BPO Professionals through CSR”, while the People First Program: Employee Engagement and Retention in the BPO Industry took home the “Award for Innovation in Human Resource Management, Practice and Planning.”

The latest awards for the global customer care giant further highlight Sitel’s commitment to innovative people-centric programs and their passion to provide BPO training to the youth and the next generation of customer care professionals.

“We’re honored to be a Stevie awardee,” said Craig Reines, Chief Operating Officer, Sitel APAC. “This recognition affirms that our investments indeed make a difference in people’s lives.”

The company’s pioneer training program, Sitel Academy, has provided free essential skills training for near-hire BPO professionals and the youth. Sitel Academy has also established partnerships with 147 universities throughout the country and with government organizations, such as the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Since 2012 Sitel Academy has successfully enhanced the skills of 18,705 graduates, with improved passing rates of 70%-93% in screening tests for contact center jobs. More than half, or 54% of Sitel Academy alums have been employed in the BPO industry.

Besides providing educational and employment opportunities for future BPO professionals, Sitel fosters an inclusive, diverse, and fun workplace for its people. Through the People First Program it has instituted company-wide campaigns and events to further engage their associates.

Training and development programs afford associates chances to upskill and pursue future promotional opportunities. Appreciation events such as the “Passion Awards” highlight employee successes, while the “HR Café” and “Chill with Craig” programs allow for fun and meaningful interaction between associates and management. The most exciting and largest event by Sitel — to date – the WünderCon Festival brought together over 15,000 associates from across the country for a day of entertainment, games, and talent shows.

“Sitel has always emphasized strong employee engagement,” Laurent Uberti, Sitel Group’s President & CEO stated. “The Stevie Awards mean so much to us as it helps strengthen Sitel’s reputation as a company that cares for its people.”
