Vilma Santos returns to television with the airing of the digitally restored and remastered version of “Kapag Langit Ang Humatol” on ABS-CBN’s “Sunday’s Best” this Sunday, August 12.

In the movie, the Star for All Seasons plays Florida, a housekeeper who experiences cruelty in the hands of the family she served, which is led by the matriarch Octavia, played by veteran actress, Gloria Romero. She goes through worse when she gets pregnant with her señorito, Hector’s (Richard Gomez), child.

Florida soon leaves the household to find a better future. She returns as Blanca, a rich businesswoman with a plan to exact revenge upon the family who imprisoned her and mistreated her.

Its director Laurice Guillen won the Best Direction while the film won Best Cinematography, and Best Editing at the 1990 Gawad Urian Awards.

Since 2011, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has been restoring classic films to help preserve Philippine cinematic history. Together with Central Digital Lab, it has become the first restoration effort to be done within the country.

To date, ABS-CBN Film Restoration Project has already restored over 120 films, some of which were already screened internationally via film fests, screened locally via red carpet premieres, aired on free-to-air and cable television, viewed via pay-per-view and video-on-demand, distributed on DVD, and downloadable even on iTunes.

Don’t forget to watch “Kapag Langit Ang Humatol” this Sunday (August 12) in “Sunday’s Best,” after “Gandang Gabi Vice” on ABS-CBN or ABS-CBN HD (SkyCable ch 167).
