This year, customers can expect to find two million new books at bigger, better discount rates of 50%-90% across different genres. There will be books for all, ranging from novels, young adult titles, thriller, science fiction, cookbooks, architecture books, design books, business books, and more.
“Learning from last year’s sale here in Manila, we’ve come back with better selection of books specially curated based on customer’s response and demand. This year, Filipino readers can expect to find more fiction books from authors such as JK Rowling, Paulo Coelho, Rick Riordan and more,” shared Andrew Yap, Founder of the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale.
“This year, we are also bringing in the Little Hippo Augmented Reality (AR) books for children. We understand that technology is something we cannot deny and children in this generations are more in tune with technology. Its “come-to-life” feature gives children a magical experience as they see their favorite characters talking and engaging with them,” he added.
The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale is known as Asia’s biggest and exclusive seller of the Little Hippo AR books. These AR books feature a variety of children’s stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and many more. It’s interactive learning feature makes learning fun and entertaining using its cutting-edge AR technology to revolutionize reading for young ones.
Aside from bringing the best books to all book lovers, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale also believes in giving back to the community. Staying true to its ethos of making books accessible to everyone, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale continues its Red Readerhood Programme here in Manila and continues its efforts to furnish Gawad Kalinga’s community libraries and schools with books. The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale has donated 1,000 books to Gawad Kalinga this time to further benefit Gawad Kalinga’s communities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao in an aim to cultivate a culture of reading and improving literacy rates. Customers are also encouraged to take part in this initiative by donating books purchased from the Red Readerhood corner.
“Ending poverty begins with breaking the poverty mindset. The partnership between Gawad Kalinga and Big Bad Wolf is one that hopes to inspire curiosity and address the hunger for new knowledge through readership and storytelling,” Luis Oquiñena, Executive Director of Gawad Kalinga, said. “Through our partnership with Big Bad Wolf, we look to a future where libraries are a main feature for every Barangay!,” he added.
While books will continue to be the center of attention for the next 11 days, customers who are visiting the sale are encouraged to keep their eyes peeled for on-ground contests where 20 lucky winners will be selected daily. There is also one exclusive grand prize to be won – a bookshelf worth of books. The winner for this grand prize will be announced on March 3, 2019.
Founded in Malaysia in 2009, the sale will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary back at its home country and being a brand that is greatly loved across the cities they have visited, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale aims to bring the sale to many more cities in the Philippines to spread the joy of reading.
