The Taiwan Fulong International Sand Sculpture Art Festival is now entering its 12th year this 2019. This upcoming anniversary will be celebrated on August 25 through a variety of events the same way they do every year.
Around 25 sand-sculpture artists from 7 countries will be coming to showcase their artistic creations, aiming to encourage “the biggest number of people to create sand-sculptures together worldwide” for the Guinness World Record. During the event, there will be, at least, 365 sand sculptures at Fulong Beach which will be exhibited from tampering sand, plating and molding, to the shaping process.
The art festival this year will have the theme, “Landing through Township to Discover Atlantis,” and coincides with the ” Year of Township Roaming for 2019″ by the Tourism Bureau. It will showcase three exhibition areas where popular movie dramas such as “Along with the Gods,” “Travel through the Ancient and Modern,” and “The Beauty of Sea” are featured. At the site, several interactive sand sculptures are displayed, all of which are both environmental-friendly and fun. There will also be a sand-sculpture bar that offers visitors the ability to order drinks on the spot. Every Saturday and Sunday night, sand sculptures combined with light sculptures and landscaped light environments will be featured. Various theme-based areas in the exhibition hall showcasing changing LED projection lights and color changes will give visitors different delightful experiences. Also, when visitors take the train to Fulong Station and get off while carrying a fragrant and tasty Fulong meal-box, they can then take a relaxed stroll to the blue skies of Fulong Beach. Here they can admire the mysterious ancient city of Atlantis, meticulously created by the sand sculpture masters.
When summer arrives, visitors must pay a visit to Fulong Beach at the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area of Taiwan to celebrate and enjoy the annual sand sculpture event!
Fulong is located at the center of the Northeast Coast National Scenic Area. As visitors walk across the road from Fulong Railway Station to the opposite side, it is at the Northeast Coast and Yilan National Scenic Area Administration Office. The place is perfect for enjoying water, cycling, and camping activities.
