Original Filipino music takes center stage at the ikotMNL Railway Jam for Linggo ng Musikang Pilipino this week!
The well-acclaimed busking sessions along the LRT-1 tracks, a joint partnership between Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit (OPM) and rail operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), will be returning on July 25-27 for another set of amazing and inspiring Pinoy music along the railroad tracks.
The sessions will begin on July 25 at LRT-1 Baclaran station, with singer-songwriters Ace Dyamante and Maxie Tiongson, GMA Records artist Kian Dionisio, and breakout Railway Jam soul belter Miss Ramonne.
On July 26, catch Railway Jam at Doroteo Jose LRT-1 station with jazz duo Brad and Nuqui, pop singer Moira Lacambra, second-generation entertainer Rox Puno, and ABS-CBN singer Voltz Vallejo.
Cap it all off at the Railway Jam session on July 27 at Monumento LRT-1 station, and let acoustic balladeers Calde, Jai Barrientos, Vanessa Mendoza, and Vanz Bonaobra soften the edge off your daily commute.
“Our deepest gratitude goes to the LRMC for offering our singers and songwriters the chance to do what they do best,” OPM President Ogie Alcasid said. “I can speak for them all when I say they are very happy with the opportunity to showcase their music at Railway Jam.”
“We’re glad to continue giving some of our most talented and impressive young Filipino musicians a stage to not only hone their craft and get their names out there, but to entertain our riding public,” LRMC President and CEO Juan Felipe Alfonso added.
If you can’t catch this month’s Railway Jam sessions on July 25-27, don’t worry—just stay tuned for the next set of dates coming this August! But if you can drop by, take the time to watch these youngsters do their thing; who knows, you might discover the next big star at the Railway Jam!
ikotMNL is a tourism program launched by Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) in 2018 in partnership with the Department of Tourism, tour operators, and local government units. It aims to connect foreign and local travelers to Manila’s rich history, cultural heritage, and top food destinations by riding the LRT-1 to areas such as Intramuros, Binondo, Quiapo, and many more.
