Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) understands the pressure that goes with running a business, especially a family-owned one. More so today, the challenges are both the same and different for the next generation of young entrepreneurs.

Rising above this challenge, Metrobank just held another successful edition of its Generation Now Leadership Series in Cebu City. Significantly, the Leadership Series was conceptualized by young relationship managers of the bank, who recognized the need to address the concerns of these new breed of clients. Its aim is to help the new set of leaders steer their family-owned companies into the next generation of stewardship. This event is the first in the industry.

Now on its third run, the recent talk was led by Dr. Jacinto Gavino Jr., an expert on managing family corporations and executive coaching. He discussed the structure of family corporations, its different business roles, and the challenges in running one, such as succession, professionalization, and governance.

“This Leadership Series is firmly rooted on the bank’s goal to be with our customers every step of the way until they fulfill their biggest dreams. As we help you manage your business, we are ultimately empowering future leaders who will soon help drive the Philippine economy,” says Institutional Banking Sector Head, Mary Mylene Caparas.
