The first-ever, live-action Pokémon adventure, “POKÉMON Detective Pikachu,” from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, scored big at the box office this weekend, leading the pack of new movies and entertaining audiences of all ages to earn an impressive P56.7-million across the Philippines.
The crowd-pleasing comedy adventure, with an all-star cast led by Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu, marked its opening weekend with the second-biggest bow of the year for Warner Bros. Philippines, following last April’s “Shazam!”
“Anticipation was running high for ‘POKÉMON Detective Pikachu’ and its opening delivered on all fronts—for fans, families and moviegoers of all ages,” said Francis Soliven, General Manager of Warner Bros. Philippines. “We could not be happier to offer such a beloved property in an exciting new way for everyone to enjoy, and we expect that the film will continue to remain strong in the weeks ahead.”
